CLOSING THE BONES

A Postpartum Ritual

A traditional Mexican closing ritual using rebozo. Rebozo are scarves made by woman, for woman, to be used in offerings by women.

Traditionally this ritual is performed as of forty days after giving birth.

A Closing the Bones is not only for women that gave physical birth. Also for women that had to let go of their baby, had pregnancy loss, or underwent an emotional challenging time in their lives. The ritual is truly for closing a chapter in your life, and returning to a new energy.

Firstly we come together to set an intention, to give words or expression to how this experience was for you. After this I facilitate a pelvic steam for you with herbs specifically chosen for you, or alternatively an herbal foot bath. After this follows a postpartum herbal oil massage, with warm oils. Supporting the nervous system, helping the physical and energetic body to come back to balance and harmony. After this you get clothed again and we continue with the rebozo massage. Seven rebozos are used in a rhythmic way, closing the body on the head, chest, belly, hips and legs. Women often describe this experience as being in a womb. Truly being held and cared for.

Rooted in the understanding of the traditional values, we support the body in returning to a state where energy can move freely, in a grounded, intuitive, and safe way.

This ritual can be performed at your place or at mine. With or without your baby. With somebody loving there for you to help you with your baby while you receive this ritual. Whatever feels most nourishing for you during this time.

THERAPEUTIC MASSAGE

An herbal oil massage that draws from a range of therapeutic modalities, including fascial release, craniosacral work, energetic bodywork, and herbal knowledge.

The session is received unclothed, with the body respectfully draped, and warm herbal oils are used to support the therapeutic process. This approach works on both physical and energetic levels, inviting deep release, nervous system regulation, and a return to grounded presence.

This massage works on a muscular level and also addresses deeper energetic and emotional layers held in the body. Techniques like cupping can also be integrated.

Each session is tailored to the individual, offering space for grounding, processing, rest, and integration.

// CUPPING therapy can be added to your treatment or booked as a separate session. During cupping, cups are placed on specific points or meridians of the body to create suction. This technique may be added to your massage to help release deep muscle tension, improve circulation, and support both physical and emotional release.

Please note: my practice is primarily for women. I work with male clients when referred or personally introduced.

REBOZO MASSAGE

A massage with Rebozo has it’s origins in Mexico. Rebozos are scarves made by woman, for woman, to be used in offerings by women.

Traditionally the rebozos are used in rituals around birth, but this massage is adjusted to use these beautiful techniques for anybody.

Seven rebozos are used in a rhythmic way, closing the body on the head, chest, belly, hips and legs. People often describe this experience as being in a womb. Truly being held and cared for, offering a very deep relaxation.

Rooted in the understanding of the traditional values, we support the body in returning to a state where energy can move freely, in a grounded, intuitive, and safe way.

This session is held with clothes on. The rebozos give an extra layer of safety and support for people or children more sensitive to touch.

BODYWORK FOR CHILDREN

A session for children that draws from a range of therapeutic modalities, including craniosacral work, therapeutic massage, energetic bodywork, breathing exercises and nervous system regulation.

Each session is tailored to the child’s specific needs in that moment. Offering space for grounding, processing, rest, and integration.

Sometimes we start with a short conversation or breathing exercises. Other times we go straight into body in a safe and grounded way. I use warm herbal oils, music and scents that support the session. When co-regulation is needed in the case of big emotions, we can go there through certain techniques, followed by returning to calmness and safety. All is welcome here.

This work is particularly created out of my personal history with bodywork when I was a child myself, at the age of 12. And feeling its profound effects on my hypersensitivity, emotional outbursts, fear en panic attacks. Making me want to offer this back and support young people in the bigness of all they can feel.

Please note: I always have a 10 minute introductory call with the parents.

Children of all ages are welcome here.

“With her gentle and warming hands, Eva guided me through the unlocking of deeply rooted emotions. I felt safe, loved and cared for, which allowed my body to release what I could not release through words.

Through her therapeutic touch, the specific movements of my body, the scent of medicinal herbs and the ancient sounds, I was carried on a journey that moved me from laughter to tears and back again.

Afterwards, I felt strengthened with answers arising from the liberated flow of body energy. I hold immense gratitude for the loving power of this session and for Eva’s warm and deeply connected presence.”
